What to Send Us With Your Quote Request
We can start with a phone call and a rough idea, but the more of this you send, the more useful our first conversation is. Photos and sketches can go to our email address, and a phone photo of a hand-drawn plan is fine.
- The town, road or nearest crossroads, and whether the parcel is inside city limits. That tells us which city or county issues the permit.
- What the building is for and the rough size you have in mind, such as a 30x40 garage or a 60x100 machine shed.
- What has to fit through the doors: the motorhome, combine head, sprayer, boat on its trailer or aircraft wingspan.
- Whether there is already a house on the lot. In unincorporated Shawnee County an accessory building cannot be permitted before the main building.
- For farm buildings, whether the land is in agricultural use and you file a Schedule F, which matters for an agricultural exemption.
- Photos of the site, a survey or plat if you have one, and a photo of your house if you want the building to match it.
What Happens After You Contact Us
We call you back within one business day to talk through the building, ask the questions above if you have not answered them already, and set a time for a site visit. If the project is outside our six counties or is work we do not do, we tell you on that call.
At the site visit we walk the parcel with you, mark where the building could sit, check slope, drainage and access for the truss truck, and look at the flood map and setbacks. We bring steel color and panel samples and talk through doors, slab, insulation, wainscot and add-ons.
Then we send you a free, written, itemized estimate. Every part of the building and every option has its own line, so you can change or drop items and see the effect. You owe us nothing for the visit or the estimate, and we revise it as often as you need while you decide.
Our office is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm and Saturday from 8am to noon, and hablamos español if you would rather talk through your building in Spanish.
